About Girls First
In 2017, First Citizens launched its girls empowerment event, the Girls First Festival, attracting over 300 girls at the very first edition in Tobago.. Since then, the festival has significantly grown in popularity and influence. Girls First has emerged as a premier event for teenage girls across Trinidad and Tobago, focusing on educating and empowering them to achieve their full potential through personal growth, leadership development, and meaningful connections.
The much-anticipated event is set to debut in Barbados in August 2024! With a continued emphasis on Youth Development and Education within Barbadian communities via the First Citizens Community program, we aspire for Girls First Barbados to foster growth, innovation, and empowerment, thereby laying the groundwork for the next cadre of female leaders and entrepreneurs in Barbados. Girls First is a pioneering conference committed to inspiring, empowering, and aiding girls in realizing their full potential. The event is designed to unite girls from various backgrounds and interests to promote personal growth, leadership development, and significant connections. Featuring a variety of dynamic sessions, interactive workshops, and motivational talks, Girls First establishes a supportive and inclusive environment where girls can acquire essential skills, enhance self-esteem, and imagine a future brimming with opportunities.
“Girls First is all about creating a safe, empowering, fun space. It provides attendees with knowledge, tools and most importantly, the mindset they’ll need, to go after that thing they envision”
