Through the oversight of the First Citizens Foundation and the work of its two Gender committees, the Young Men’s Development Programme Committee and the Advancement of Women Committee, we address a myriad of social issues facing men, women and children, as we empower all to see their purpose, potential and possibilities..
Undeniably, there are qualities, approaches and concerns, unique to men, women, boys and girls! Our gender pillar embraces those differences, celebrates the value that each of these groups can bring and provides a platform for offering critical support, which can address their needs. Through the oversight of the First Citizens Foundation and the work of its two Gender committees, the Young Men’s Development Programme Committee and the Advancement of Women Committee, we address a myriad of social issues facing men, women and children, as we empower all to see their purpose, potential and possibilities.
Gender Committee
We are committed to bridging the gap of inequity between the genders, the First Citizens Foundation strives to empower women and men to fulfil their highest potential as gender inequality and imbalances of power have long been a concern for the global community. The focus on gender as a CSR pillar has allowed the Group to create socially impacting programmes which further this agenda. These include: The First Citizens Women Conference, First Citizens Girls First Festivals, The First Citizens Fund for The Advancement of Women, First Citizens Boys Symposium.
The purpose of the AOW Committee is to undertake programmes that assist in safeguarding and promoting the health and wellbeing of women and children affected by domestic violence, abuse and related issues.
