Purchase Protection
When you pay in full for an item with your eligible Visa you will receive, free of charge and without registering, protection against theft or accidental damages, within 180 days of the purchase date.
This protection will reimburse you for the expenses incurred to have the Covered item repaired or compensate you for the value of the Covered item up to the maximum sum insured that applies. This purchase protection applies for items purchased in your own country or abroad.
You should report and open a claim as soon as possible after the incident. Coverage is provided by AIG and/or corresponding reinsurer, if applicable.
Benefit Coverage:
- Visa Gold – Coverage is limited to the cost of the item up to USD 1,000 per account per 12 month period
- Visa Platinum – Coverage is limited to USD 5,000 per event and up to USD 10,000 per account per 12 month period
- Visa Signature – Coverage is limited to USD 5,000 per event and up to USD 10,000 per account per 12 month period
- Visa Infinite – Coverage is limited to USD 10,000 per event and up to USD 20,000 per account per 12 month period
