13th September, 2023 First Citizens, Port of Spain: “Looking back, on September 13th, 1993, we didn’t just open our doors! We opened the eyes of a nation to its potential. Today, we’ve made it to 30 because if those who dared to believe that we had what it took to give the people of Trinidad and Tobago a bank that they could own, build and grow with.” said Karen Darbasie, First Citizens Group CEO. The sentiment was expressed as First Citizens hosts week-long customer appreciation activities in honour of its 30th Anniversary, themed “Together… 30 and Beyond”. Across all of its Branches nationwide, the atmosphere was buzzing with activities, including live entertainment, tokens and light refreshments for customers and even a nostalgic element with a “games we used to play” area, which customers thoroughly enjoyed.
Joining in the festivities at one of the Group’s flagship locations, the Independence Square Branch, Karen Darbasie added “As we celebrate, it is an honour to say thank you. Thank you to the many who joined along the way, to contribute and continue to expand on this dream”
Meanwhile, Chairman, Anthony Isidore Smart who was present at the newest First Citizens Branch, West Vale, and Jason Julien, Group Deputy CEO – Business Generation, who visited the San Fernando Branch, also took time to meet, greet and express thanks to scores of customers, who were eager to join in special cake cutting ceremonies to mark the occasion.
First Citizens kicked off celebrations exactly six months ago on March 13th with random acts of kindness and giveaways for customers and members of the public as well as special presentations to its CSR partners. Beyond the celebrations, the Group is now eager to continue to build upon its remarkable legacy which includes operations in the regional territories of Barbados, Costa Rica St. Lucia and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
