First Citizens Celebrates Innovation in Action with NSSEC Sponsorship
Press Release
First Citizens is proud to announce its continued sponsorship of the highly anticipated National Secondary Schools Entrepreneurship Competition (NSSEC), an initiative aimed at fostering innovation, leadership, and business acumen among young students outside the traditional school system. The competition, which exposes secondary school students to dynamic training in entrepreneurship via simulation software enables participants to become actual entrepreneurs through gamification, allowing students to experience the highs and lows of running a business enterprise. Last year, over 600 students were introduced to the topic of conscious capitalisation to encourage them to be more socially responsible in running their businesses.
“At NSSEC, our objectives include developing your competencies and intelligence…. your ability to think and more importantly to think creatively, strategically, and critically in real-world scenarios and simulations and having to do so not as an individual but as a team,” said Jason Julien, Group Deputy CEO – Business Generation in his address to the students. “We at First Citizens, are proud to continue to be a partner with the National Secondary Schools Entrepreneurship Competition and have seen our investment over the last seven years impact the lives of over 4000 students….”
With today’s rapidly evolving global economy, the need for entrepreneurial thinking has never been more important. Through this initiative, First Citizens is empowering young people to not only dream big but to also develop the practical skills necessary to turn their ideas into reality.
In keeping with its continued commitment to youth development and education, First Citizens reaffirms its commitment to projects such as NSSEC and believes in the overall development of young people equipping them with valuable skills and fostering networking and camaraderie.
