First Citizens Crowns Tobago Heritage Queen

Representing the community of Les Coteaux, Ms. Amaiya Yeates was crowned Ms. Tobago Heritage Personality 2024 during the Ms. Tobago Heritage Personality Show at the Opening Night of the Tobago Heritage Festival last Thursday, July 11, 2024. Ms. Yeates was elated, expressing joy and gratitude for this prestigious honour, highlighting the new opportunities it brings her way.

First Citizens has been a proud sponsor of this competition since its inception, a fixture on the Tobago Heritage Festival calendar. The festival’s 37th edition, themed “We Come Back: Back to our communities, back to our villages, back to our true indigenous Heritage presentations and productions,” emphasised on reconnecting with roots and communities. It promotes celebrating indigenous culture, embracing traditions, and showcasing heritage through various presentations and productions.

A notable aspect of this year’s Ms. Tobago Heritage Personality show was the community outreach initiative where all participants united to make a positive impact beyond the competition. Their teamwork showcased unity, service, and the essence of Ms. Tobago Heritage Personality, inspiring others to contribute to their community’s betterment.

Amaiya received a First Citizens educational bursary for her accomplishments, along with the People’s Choice and Best Gown Portrayal awards. Coming is second was Klavier Simpson, from Rhythmic Vibrations, who was also honoured with titles like Ms. Intelligence and Best Talent. Kina Mc Millan, representing Betsy’s Hope, secured the third position and was recognized as Ms. Photogenic, with her gown also winning the Best Designer award. Senika Caesar, representing Concordia/Mason Hall, was honoured with the title of Ms. Amity.

This annual event serves as a platform for showcasing the elegance and charisma of Tobagonian women, spotlighting the island’s vibrant customs and traditions.
