First Citizens restores HDC Community Play Parks
Corporate Social Responsibility
In 2018, First Citizens collaborated with the Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation (HDC) to establish play parks in various HDC Housing Developments across Trinidad and Tobago. As a continuation of its support, First Citizens has once again partnered with HDC to restore the community play parks.
At the Gomez Trace, Moruga playground site visit on June 11, First Citizens Assistant General Manager, International Trade Centre, Mr. Keshwar Khodai stated, “This collaboration underscores our ongoing commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents, particularly the younger generations who will benefit immensely from these recreational spaces.”
Acknowledging the critical role of communal areas in fostering social engagement and physical well-being, First Citizens pledged its assistance to revitalize the infrastructure of multiple play parks. The refurbished play parks will feature upgraded equipment, fresh landscaping, and improved amenities to ensure that children of all ages can enjoy the facilities to the fullest. Through this investment, First Citizens reaffirms its dedication to endorsing initiatives that cultivate lively, inclusive, and sustainable neighbourhoods.
The refurbishment is being carried out in two phases, with the first park at Harpe Place, POS being re-opened officially on May 29th, 2024. In the upcoming months, the final park in phase one, Adventure Park, Plymouth Tobago will be renovated. The initiative is testament to First Citizens commitment to contributing to the development of the communities it serves.
