The ground-breaking symposium brought together industry experts, innovators and stakeholders to explore the potential impact of all things Hydrogen on the global low carbon energy landscape. Sessions focused on the critical challenges, research and opportunities surrounding the development of a hydrogen economy, along with the necessary key infrastructure.
Addressing the audience on the topic of Environmental, Social and Governance and Green Financing, Sacha Syne – General Manager, Corporate and Investment Banking at First Citizens said “First Citizens has been embracing sustainable financing concepts, exploring “Green Banking” polices and has also begun to walk the path of Green and Blue Lending.”
With the emergence of a global Environmental, Social and Governance thrust, First Citizens took a significant step in 2022, aimed at strengthening social conscience and aligning investments to globally recognized standards. This chapter was marked with the launch of their social investment programme, First Citizens Community. The programme is operationalized by the First Citizens Foundation with a focus on five key pillars – Environment, Sport, Youth Development and Education, Gender and Culture. Each pillar has its own committee that ensures that investments are meaningful, and measured by their environmental and social impact, as well as strong governance standards.
The Group’s sponsorship of the symposium signals First Citizens’ ongoing commitment to the Environment and a sustainable energy future.
