Podium Success: First Citizens secures 3rd place at CariFin Games

The employees of the First Citizens Group celebrated an impressive third-place finish on the closing day of the three- month-long CariFin Games. Over 250 employees competed in a series of activities hosted by the CariFin Health and Fitness Club. The event is an annual series of sports and novelty events that brings together financial institutions promoting health, wellbeing and friendly competition among its employees.
The games commenced with a Torch Run Relay on March 23 and continued from April to June with events such as One Lap Savannah, Green Mile, Chancellor Challenge, Football and Cricket tournaments, an Aerobics Burnout, and All Fours competition. On Sunday June 9, the games concluded with a Cross Country Challenge and Family Day, at the Queen’s Park Savannah. The day was packed with enthusiasm from the participating institutions as they cheered on their respective representatives.
Ms. Karen Darbasie, Group CEO, First Citizens, who participated in the One Lap Savannah, stated, “It gives me great pride to compete alongside my staff and our counterparts in our commitment to leading healthy, active lifestyles both inside and outside the workplace. The CariFin games is an enjoyable setting for us all to engage and build camaraderie.”
First Citizens staff had a competitive edge in several of the fitness club’s challenges such as, the One Lap Savannah, Green Mile, Chancellor Challenge, Aerobics Burnout Challenge, Cricket, and All Fours competitions, where they finished on the podium.
First Citizens commends the efforts of the CariFin Health and Fitness Club in their ongoing coordination of the games and continued promotion of fun and fitness within the financial services sector.
